This is a good early project for first years. It is versatile in that a number of materials can be used such as Brass, Aluminium, Steel or Perspex, and the design is basic and so can be changed quite easily to make it more difficult or more interesting. Skills needed for this project include marking out, drilling, draw filing and filing a curve.
